Working on the 'Wing...

What I thought was going to be a simple cleaning, has turned into a major project. I got this bike home, put a new battery in her, drained the old gas, filled her up with a premium gas/Seafoam mixture and turned her over a bunch of time to get the Seafoam in the carbs.

I was hoping that simply, I could get the Seafoam to save me from tearing the carbs down. No luck. I pumped some cat puke from my fuel pump.

After seeing what pumped out of the fuel pump, I decided to tear down the fuel pump and make sure it wasn't full of shit. (Did you know that no one makes a rebuild kit for these fuel pumps?) So now I have a dismantled fuel pump that I will never use again.

However, I put a parts list together the other night with necessities like carb rebuild kits, fuel pump, timing belts, cables, brake parts, etc., and found out that it wouldn't be that expensive to replace everything. $500. That's not as bad as I was thinking.
